While 3D Printing and CNC machining is for prototyping low numbers, the best processes that fit in for quantities above 20 numbers and upto 2000 numbers without going in for Hard tooling, is Vacuum Casting and Reaction Injection Molding. The resultant parts are very close to production parts and can be produced very quickly.
