Additive manufacturing is an appropriate name for parts built using any of the 3D Printing Technologies, and are used as final prodution parts in products/ assemblies. AM is perfectly suited for small to medium sized complex parts that are required in low volume, where tradional tooling is an expensive option. 3DPD employs Selective Laser Sintering technology for AM of plastic parts for Medical products and Special Purpose machines.
